Police seizes 429 pouches of liquor, two held | | | Early Times Report RAMBAN, Aug 2: Continuing its drive against bootleggers in Ukhral Senabati of Ramban, the police today claimed to have arrested two bootleggers along with major haul of illicit liquor pouches numbering to 429. "Acting on specific input, a police team of police post Ukhral laid a naka at Ukhral -Makarkot Link Road and intercepted four pedestrian on suspicious grounds," a police official said. "On seeing police, two of them managed to escape from the spot by taking advantage of night whereas the two were apprehended after a chase, he added. Police officer said, "During checking of belongings of the accused, identified as Amar Singh son of Sher Singh and Insaf Singh son of Tara Chand both resident of Senabati, police recovered 429 pouches of JK Desi Whisky liquor and the duo was arrested on the spot" "The accused were carrying the illicit liquor on foot and were about to store consignment to their locality for black marketing, he said, adding, "meanwhile hunt is on to nab the absconding accused identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed and Pervaiz Ahmed." In this regard, a case FIR No. 56/2016 u/s 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo. The catch was made by police party led by Sub Inspector Anil Choudhary, incharge police post Ukhral in close coordination with Inspector Mohammad Ameen, Station House Officer (SHO) police station Ramsoo under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Mohd Rafiq. |
