Jammu Tawi Rly Station soon to get bio-toilets | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 06: In a bid to provide clean and tidy surroundings with a motive ‘first impression is the last impression’ among the tourists and pilgrims visiting here from across the country, Jammu Tawi Railway Station is soon going to have bio-toilets being installed outside the station area. Setting up of bio-toilets at Jammu Tawi Railway Station is a part of Railway Ministry’s countrywide target of providing 17,000 bio-toilets on trains and additional toilets at 475 stations before the closure of the 2016-17 financial year.
''The work of establishing bio-toilets have already started and it will soon be completed,’’ a railway official here today told . He said nearly three to four well furnished and equipped toilets are being placed outside the Jammu Tawi Railway Station and will soon be thrown open for the general public. With quotes 'Use Public Urinals, Not Public Places', the toilets also have instructions mentioned for handicapped and old aged persons.
Thousands of people from across the country are daily arriving here to visit Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave Shrine and other religious places in the region. In pursuance of mission ‘Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat’, Indian Railways is providing 17,000 bio-toilets in trains and additional toilets at 475 stations before the closure of this financial year.
