Jammu,August 6 :- Since July 8 when Burhan Wani,commander of Hizbul Mujahideen was killed separatists have shown unity despite their ideological differences and ego problem.And during these 29 days mainstream political parties have been disunited because of ego problem and as a result of lack of will to prevail upon people to abandon the path of violence.
In fact Kashmir issue and violence are a unifying force among the separatists.But violence in Kashmir has never remained a unifying force among the mainstream political parties.And if the PDP leadership and the one that represents the BJP start blaming the NC and the Congress and other mainstream political organizations for inciting people to violence they are not wrong.
At what stage the leadership of the Congress and the National Conference has hardly seen helping the Government in curbing protests.What the Congress and the NC leaders have done is to berate the coalition Government and the security forces.They have even criticized the security forces for having eliminated Burhan Wani who st ands lionized after his death.
It is all done to win back peoples’ support which may help the Congress and the NC in regaining power once the Assembly election was held.Hence they ar e waiting for the fall olf the coalition Government which may trigger scenes of joy in Kashmir.
And the separatists stand united because they do not have any ambition for forming the Government.Their ambitikon is to see Kashmir liberated from what they call occupation of India.They do not have time to visualize the negative impact of Kashmir getting “Azadi”.
And the only country that egss the separatists to promote unity is Pakistan because Islamabad and its agencies know that once separatists fail to show a united face it would be an end to Pakistan’s campaign on Kashmir.
And the anger of Pakistanis against the use of force against protesters is being misused on a simple Indian citizen who has been serving three-year jail term for holding a fake Pakistani identity card.
A 31-year-old Indian prisoner, convicted by a military court this year of possessing a fake Pakistani identity card, was attacked twice by inmates in a Peshawar jail in the past two months, his lawyer has said. Hamid Nehal Ansari, a Mumbai resident arrested in 2012 for illegally entering Pakistan from Afghanistan reportedly to meet a girl he had befriended online, suffered injuries after he was attacked by inmates in the Peshawar Central Prison.
Ansari's lawyer Qazi Mohammad Anwar told a Peshawar High Court bench the other day that his client had been kept in a death cell with a hardened criminal awaiting execution for a murder.
Superintendent of the prison Masoodur Rehman confirmed the incidents but insisted they’re of minor nature and that such incidents did happen in prisons.
Rehman also told the bench that Ansari, who was serving three years’ jail term, had been kept in the death cell.
“He (Ansari) can’t be kept in a normal barrack along with other prisoners for the sake of his security,” he said.It is a small incident but opening fire or teargassing those who fire from their guns or pelt stones,in which a large number of security personnel are injured,is a serious violation of human rights.This is the judgement issued by the Congress and the NC.And Omar tweets,as is his habit,in which he has held Modi responsible fort being mum on Kashmir incidents. Will Modi condemn it ? If he does so it means he is condemning security forces. Will he support the measures taken by the security forces and the state Government ? If he does so it will mean he is belittling people in Kashmir.(EOM)
