Jammu, Aug 06 (JNF): Even as it was court’s non-sitting day today, the high court conducted its proceedings in view of the recovery of advocate Raman Wazir, who had gone missing under mysterious circumstances from Nagrota near here on July 31 last, and directed principal of GMC, Jammu, to constitute a board for his medical examination. SSP, Jammu, was too directed to provide ‘complete’ security to the advocate and make sure that no stranger had any type of access to him. He was traced by SIT in PGI, Chandigarh, yesterday and brought to Jammu. Though today was court’s non-sitting day, keeping in view the recovery of Wazir and filing of the miscellaneous petition by the deputy advocate general and the latest status report by SIT, it was decided to hold the court proceedings today itself. Accordingly, the registrar judicial, Jammu, was directed to obtain orders from the high court chief justice. The registrar judicial informed the court that the necessary permission had been granted by the chief justice. After he was today produced in the court of Justice Tashi Rabstan, the court interacted with him. Following brief interaction with him, it was opined that he required immediate proper medical examination. The judge, after hearing the two sides, directed GMC principal to constitute a medical board today itself, which should necessarily have a psychiatric expert and a general physician. “If the board opines that the advocate is fit for making a statement, police will be allowed to record his statement in the presence of a judicial magistrate,” he directed. Justice Rabstan also directed SSP, Jammu, to forthwith provide complete security to the advocate and that make sure that no stranger had any type of access to him. The court also directed that the advocate’s family members would be allowed to accompany him and remain with him. With his recovery, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, also deciced to resume work from Monday.
