Jammu, Aug 6: A young girl working as theatre technician was crushed to death by a truck at Panama Chowk falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Gandhi Nagar. Police have registered a case in this regard.
"The deceased has been identified as Nisha Sharma, daughter of Punnu Lal Sharma a resident of Gurha Bakshi Nagar, police said.
"The accident took place late this afternoon when she was returning from work on her scooty which got hit by a speeding truck resulting in on the spot death of girl, police said. Police added that the 24 yrs old girl was employed with the Department of Health Services as an Operation theatre technician.
Taking prompt action, the police said, the police have arrested accused truck driver who has been identified as Kulwant Singh son of Vakeel Singh of Nagbani while vehicle too has been seized.
A case in this connection stands registered for further investigation. |
