Inordinate delay in recruitment process mocks at whole exercise | 1874 posts vacant in newly created administrative units | | Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 10: Due to the inordinate delay in the recruitment process more than 650 administrative units ordered to be created by previous National Conference and Congress coalition government in the state are virtually yet to function in the real sense. A document issued by the Revenue department says that more than 1850 posts are vacant in the 659 administrative units that were ordered to be set up by the previous coalition government. The document says that 1874 posts under different categories are lying vacant in the newly created administrative units across the length and breadth of the state. The document says that two posts of Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) are vacant in the Jammu division of the state. These posts are vacant in the Jammu and Ramban districts of the state. The document says that 20 posts of Tehsildars are lying vacant in Jammu & Kashmir. According to the document three posts of Tehsildar are vacant in the Leh district in the Ladakh division. Two posts each of Tehsildar are vacant in the Kupwara, Baramulla, Pulwama, Doda, Jammu and Kishtwar districts of the state. A post each of Tehsildar is vacant in the Bandipora, Anantnag, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi districts of Jammu & Kashmir. At the same time the document says that 82 posts of Naib Tehsildars are vacant in the state. Kishtwar district in Jammu division tops the list in this regard with 13 vacant posts of Naib Tehsildar. Eleven posts of Tehsildar are vacant in the Anantnag district followed by Bandipora district with nine vacant posts. Eight posts each of Naib Tehsildar are vacant in Kupwara and Doda districts. Seven posts each of Naib Tehsildar are vacant in the Leh and Baramulla districts with six posts of Naib Tehsildar lying vacant in Rajouri district. Three posts each of Naib Tehsildar are vacant in the Kulgam and Reasi districts with two posts each of Naib Tehsildar lying vacant in Kathua and Ramban districts. A post each of Naib Tehsildar is lying vacant in Shopian, Pulwama and Poonch districts. The document says that 226 posts of Patwaries are lying vacant in the state. Doda district tops the list with 32 vacant posts of Patwaries followed by Jammu district with 29 vacant posts of Patwaris. In Kathua district 23 posts of Patwaries are lying vacant followed by Kishtwar where 21 posts of Patwaris are lying vacant. In the Rajouri district 17 posts of Patwaries are lying vacant while as 16 such posts are vacant in Leh district. The document says that 15 posts of Patwaris are lying vacant in Poonch district with 13 posts of Patwaries lying vacant in Udhampur district. In the Kulgam and Bandipora districts 11 posts each of Patwaries are lying vacant. In the Budgam district 10 posts of Patwaris are lying vacant with eight posts of Patwaries lying vacant in Kupwara, Ramban and Reasi districts. Four posts of Patwaries are lying vacant in the Kargil districts. The document says that 435 posts of Junior Assistants, 625 posts of orderlies, 45 posts of accounts assistants, 44 posts of junior stenographers and 159 posts of drivers are lying vacant in the newly created administrative units in the state. The document says that 236 posts are lying vacant in the various cadres of the revenue department. |
