Modi Govt says no to talks with separatists | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 10: Modi government has decided against holding any talks with the separatists. The government has sent a clear signal that it will not tolerate any anti-India activities in the Kashmir rather will go hard at it. Home Minister Rajnath Singh in his reply to the debate on the Kashmir in the Upper House said if any talks are to be held than it's about the PoK. He also said that his government will not tolerate raising of anti-India slogans in the valley . However, he didn't utter a word about holding talks with the separatists. It has set the tone for further action of the Modi government on Kashmir. The Modi government has raised the red-flag on the Kashmir and has now told in clear terms that it's only the mainstream parties, who take oath in the Indian constitution, with whom talks are to be held. "Modi government has finally decided to change the narrative on the Kashmir. It doesn't want to have any ambiguity on this account. And this has never been told in such clear terms before," said the official. The Home Minister in a very terse and calculated reply didn't make any statement which could drop even a hint of government showing any sign of relaxation on this front. "It's for this reason we decided not to go for sending all party delegation to the valley. We don't want to repeat the scene of 2010 when Geelani literally rebuffed the Indian leader in front of media" said the Home Minister. |
