Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 10: The Jammu and Kashmir School Education department is yet to gauge the outcome of much-hyped transfer melas organized in various districts for transfer of teachers, masters and lecturers but some people have pasted posters on the wall of Director of School Education Jammu, mocking at transfer-melas besides mentioning alleged transfer rates for teachers, masters and lecturers.
These aggrieved people under the name of Civil Society Jammu (CSJ) which appears to be fake, have even mentioned the names of the officials, teachers, close-relatives of some minister, who can be contacted for the transfers by the exchange of huge money within or outside the city or in the place of their choice.
Heading of one such poster reads pasted on the wall of DSE Jammu, reads as, "Transfers in Education Directorate", besides mocking at Transfer-Mela, the poster reads as..….Transfurrrr…Mela'.
Moreover, the next line in the poster reads as, "For transfer don't worry……We are here to serve you 24/7…. Please contact our authorized dealers…."
The poster mentioned about the names of some eminent people, associated with Directorate of School Education. One such alleged dealer is a close relative of a minister in PDP-BJP coalition government, while as few officials posted in DSE Jammu.
In the column titled, "Terms and Conditions", the poster read as, "Hard cash 0.50 Lakhs to 1 Lakhs". The 2nd term reads, "Transfer City to City, premature..No Bar….", the 3rd term reads, "Don't worry if not applied in Mela"..VIP recommendation no problem...".
In the conclusion, the posters reads as, "Rush Immediately..Time Short…Posts in Plenty."
In another poster pasted on the wall of DSE, the rates for the transfers of teachers, masters, lecturers are clearly mentioned. For the transfer of Lecturer, the rate of Rs. 1 Lakh to Rs. 1.5 Lakh has been written for securing transfer within city limits and Rs. 75000 for outside city limits.
For the transfer of a Master in city limits, the rate list mentioned Rs. 1 Lakhs and Rs. 75000 for transfer outside city limits while for the transfer of teachers, the rate list mentioned Rs. 75,000 for transfer within city limits and Rs. 50,000 for outside city areas.
Interestingly in both the posters, the names of the teachers or officials of Directorate of School Education are same and the concluding paragraph of the second poster reads, "Pay or remain posted outside stations….It's your choice".
Pertinently during the tenure of Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand as School Education Minister, same type of posters had appeared on the walls of DSE and in a recent case, posters against a Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Bhartiya Janta Party were also appeared, which is mirroring the dejection of common masses against the system and their functionaries, who have allegedly forget their duties, said Suchwant Singh a citizen of Old Jammu city.
He further said that when there was no say of common people, they used such tactics to vent their anger against the government departments and their functionaries.
