Diarrhoea breaks out in Pancheri block, claims one life | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Aug 10: Three panchayat of Panchari block of Udhampur district are under the grip of diarrhoea and acute dysentery which has claimed one life. According to sources, three panchayat viz. Basnote, Dubigali, Damnote of Panchari block capture diarrhaea and Dysentery have created panic in area when one woman namely Guddi Devi (22) wife of Kham Raj of Basnote in Panchari Block. Sarpanch Basnote Kailash Kumari said that my panchayat spread over three villages ward no 3, Bithua and Chakli ten families about 35 family members effected diarrhaea and dysentery. Humming similar tones, Sarpanch Dubigali Yash Paul Singh said that his panchayat spread across villages Dubi Gali, Nali Nika, Basnot and Mogri and 20 families of 50 souls have been reportedly suffering of diarrhea and dysentery. Meanwhile Block Medical Officer (BMO) Pancheri Dr Satpal said that as reported by the M/O PHC Moungri -Basnote and adjoining area no case of diarrhaea and dysentery reported except one family where one death was reported. BMO added that M/O concerned also had maintained that chlorine tablets, zinc sulphate, ORS packets and other anti diarrhea drugs have been distributed among the peoples. "Besides this awareness regarding prevention of diarrhea & dysentery too has been launched and people are urged to drink boiled water, BMOP said, adding, the special team will visit the area in short time."
