Traffic on single lane to be restored on 4th bridge by September 12 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 6: To provide relief to daily commuters and to ease the traffic congestion on the city roads, Minister for Roads and Buildings today said that the single tube traffic on 4th bridge on river Tawi will be restored by September 12. The bridge was heavily damaged in the recent occurred flash floods after which it was closed for vehicular movement. The Minister informed this after reviewing the status of renovation works on the 4th bridge being executed by the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC). Earlier the Minister chaired a meeting of officers of JKPCC to review the pace of development works being executed by the corporation. Managing Director JKPCC Dilip Thusoo informed the Minister about the status of various projects. The Minister directed him to expedite the pace of works and ensure their timely completion. He asked the concerned officers to put in concerted efforts to create durable assets for the society. The Minister asked the concerned to initiate the construction works of New Polytechnic Colleges at Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda and Poonch. While reviewing the status of works at New Legislative Complex Jammu, he directed MD JKPCC to expedite the pace of works on the project. |
