Tara Chand ditches dissidents
9/7/2016 10:48:19 AM

Early Times Report
Former Dy CM Tara Chand once again ditched the
dissident faction when he along with Balwan Singh secretly left for
Srinagar to join the Congress team for meeting All Party
Delegation.
Despite a unanimous decision taken by the dissident faction, during
their meeting four days back at a banquet hall near Kunjwani in Jammu,
that no one from them would go to Srinagar for joining PCC president G
A Mir to meet the All Party Delegation, Tara Chand and Balwan Singh
left Jammu yesterday morning. During the last week meeting of
dissidents, wherein decision to avoid G A Mir was taken, both Tara
Chand and Balwan Singh were also present and they had agreed to remain
united over the issue.
However, the news of both the leaders leaving for Srinagar was a
shocker to the entire dissident faction, particularly former Minister
Dr Manohar Lal and others, who were very active for re-entry of Tara
Chand in the faction, last month.
It may be recalled that MLC Jugal Kishore was strongly against keeping
Tara Chand in the dissident faction because of the later’s alleged
proximity with PCC chief G A Mir, who is enemy number one of the
group. However, it was on the intervention of Dr Manohar and a few
others that an agreement was reached out after Tara Chand agreed to
maintain distance from Mir. Only after this agreement, a meeting of
the dissident group was convened last week, which was attended by
Jugal Kishore and Tara Chand.
According to the sources, Tara Chand’s act of dodging the entire group
for joining G A Mir has irked all the dissidents who are once again
contemplating to keep both these leaders away from their mission while
Dr Manohar Lal is believed not to oppose such action this time,
sources said.
