Jammu, Sept 6: Having allegedly developed a nexus with the 'corrupt' officials of a revenue generating department located in a district of Jammu region during his earlier postings there, a police officer has managed his third posting in the area.
He remained posted there as a DSP in executive police, then as a DSP of vigilance organisation (VO) and now as an additional SP, according to police sources.
He developed contacts with the 'corrupt' officials of the particular department during his posting in the district as DSP. Later, when he was transferred to VO, he again managed to get himself posted in the district. He, however, earned a bad name when he started visiting the officials on the first day of every month for making collections, sources alleged.
Sources said when complaints against him had started pouring in the offices of senior VO officers here, they forthwith transferred him to other district. However, after his promotion as SP in the recent past, he again managed his posting in the district as additional SP.
"He has now activated all his old contacts in the district, including some officials of the department, which earns a huge revenue, and asked them to do work for him. He has even directed the SHO of the police station, under which the highest revenue generating department is located, and the SHOs of police stations situation on the national highway not to take any decisions on their own," sources alleged.
"His writ runs large in the area," sources said. |
