Jats demand clarification over settlement compensation | | | Early Times Report
Hiranagar, Sept 6: All India Jat Mahasabha-J&K (AIJMS-J&K) President Ch Man Mohan Singh ( Former Mayor - Jammu) toured the villages of Tanda, Pantaal and Chajrath, tehsil Marheen and tehsil Hiranagar to access the living conditions of the people of his community. While interacting with the community he said ours is the bravest community since its existence and have always contributed in the making of nation but different Govts of the country and state have ignored this community in all fields. This community is fighting since years for their rights of one time settlement compensation and RBA status along 8 kms strip along Indo-Pak Border. Govt must clarify that the Rs. five lacs which is being given to the displaced persons of Indo-Pak wars, whether it is part payment of demanded one time settlement compensation of Rs. 2500000/= (Rs. Twenty five lac) or something else. The conditions of roads, electricity, schooling and health are very poor in the villages and hamlets of Jat community. None of the leaders whether MLA/MP who won with the votes of these faithful Jats have taken care of these people. They treat them as slaves. The president asked the community to be united to teach a lesson to these leaders who deceived them since last 67 years. He stressed upon the community to educate their children so that they can be able to face various challenges of life since only key to success is education. Those who spoke on the occasion include Dy SP Dewan Singh (Sr. President AIJMS - J&K), Capt. Om Singh, Subash Singh, Sat Pal (Teh. President Kathua), Sub. Darshan Lal, and Satish Singh (Teh. Youth President AIJMS J&K - Samba). |
