Pushed to wall, Geelani unlikely to oppose BOSE exam | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 6: The separatist camp which is fuelling four month old unrest in the valley has finally succumbed to the public pressure of allowing exams in the valley without any protest call. The separatist camp has decided to hold meeting with all stake holders to discuss the issue. A meeting of the separatist camp was held in Srinagar to discuss the situation. The meeting was held as the separatists are not only coming under severe criticism from the public but more so from the parents of the students who are to appear in their exams, especially of the class 12th as it's crucial exam for their career. A Srinagar based news agency has reported that the meeting attended by the SAS Geelani, Yasin Malik and Omar Farooq also discussed the issue of conduct of exams . The separatists have now decided to hold meeting the all the stake holders on this issue and then issue their next round of 'protest calendar'. "The separatists have now started feeling the heat and also realizing that the ground is slipping. Separatists presume to be custodian of the Kashmiri people but when they start hitting the career of the Kashmiri students then they have crossed the red-line and this is what has impelled them to consider the issue of the exam," said a senior police official. It is seen has U-turn by the separatists after having being pushed to the wall. Only few days back SAS Geelani had said the reason the government wants to open the schools is that they want to project it is a return of the normalcy, thus clearing implying that he was opposed to conduct of the exams. "This is the same Geelani who had written a strong worded letter against the opening of the schools, now the same person is implying that he can consider the holding of the exams? It shows the duplicity of his character and how this man is using the situation to his own advantage. Basically, he is being given dictation by the Pakistan. Now, people in the valley have gone against both Geelani and the Pakistan and this is what is happening now," said a senior official. |
