NMC urges CM to look into pay commission implementations | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 6: While welcoming the opening of civil secretariat in the winter capital of Jammu city tomorrow, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today appealed to the Chief Minister to initiate the process of implementation of the recommendations of the 7th pay commission in the state of Jammu & Kashmir as the same have already been implemented by the NDA Govt. at the centre as well as in several state governments in favor of their employees and pensioners three months ago. Addressing a well attended NMC workers meeting here, Shastri said that any further delay in the implementation of the 7th pay commission recommendations would result in the pilling of the dues and arrears. He said that even the states which had lot of financial crunch have already implemented the recommendations of the 7th pay commission and as such urge the State Govt to follow the suit and implement the recommendation of the seventh pay commission as a good will gesture without further loss of time. Shastri pointed out that more than eight lakh families comprising of state Govt. employees, daily rated workers and pensioners are dependent on salary/wages and pension ,therefore the State Govt. should not ignore the genuine demands of these catagories. Several resolutions were adopted in the meeting which included the removal of pay anomalies amongst the clerical cadre, release of all pending dues of daily rated workers beside implementation of Central Govt. decision of enhancing the minimum wages of rupee three hundred fifty per day in Jammu & Kashmir also, increasing medical allowance to rupee two thousand per month etc. |
