Kathua, Nov 6: To pay homage to soldiers of Indian Army, CRPF, BSF, Police and other Security forces, who sacrificed their lives for the nation, District Congress Committee President Former MLC Subash Gupta organised a 'Candle March' at Shaheedi Chowk, here on Sunday. JKPCC State General Secretary Dr Manohar Lal Sharma presiding over the function started the function with the lighting of first candle at Memorial situated at Shaheedi Chowk. Following this, dozens of other activists raising slogans in favour of India and its brave heart soldiers lit the candles. The party activists also observed two-minute silence to pray for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in service of the nation. In addition, activists also raised slogans against Prime Minister for not taking the issues of OROP, seriously. Dr Manohar Lal Sharma while paying tributes to martyrs said, "We believe in world peace and brotherhood. We condemn heinous acts like terrorism and killings of innocent people, which are against the spirit of humanity." Giving reference of Ex-Army men struggling for the proper implementation of OROP said, "It is sad that Prime Minister Narendra Modi made lie on the issue. The truth is that centre has done nothing in this regard and the truth is that Ex-Army men are protesting in support of demand from last 510 days," he irked. Subash Gupta recalling the benefit of OROP pension as right of Ex-Army men, said that Union Government is not giving the benefit as donation, and moreover, it is not about the money but is about the prestige of our soldiers. Ex-MC President Naresh Sharma, PCC Secretary Aradhana Andotra, Kulbir Singh Pathania and Nirdosh Sharma,Rattan chand krotra S.P Rtd, Sardar Khan S P Rtd, vinay sharma lok sabha gen sec youth Congress DCC Vice-President Yugal Kishore Bali, Pushpa Majotra, Advocate Rajeev Gupta, Pankaj Sharma,Romi Sharma, dilbir singh sethu surinder singh ,madan lal,anant ram dogra ,Advocate Ajatshatru Sharma, Nariender Khajuria, Satpal Sharma, master sat pal,Ashok kumar,Raj kumar ,Ramesh kumar and many others were present on the occasion. |
