Ladli Beti Divas celebrtated at Ramgarh | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Nov 7: The monthly Ladli Beti Divas occurring on 7th of every month was celebrated at Gurudwara Sahib,Raika Labana in which DC Samba, Sheetal Nanda was the Chief Guest. According to press release, the function was organised here as the campaign envisages important role of the religious leaders in bringing awareness about the low sex ratio in the district. The DC called for equal participation from both men and women for achieving the desired results. She said that scientific studies state that under ideal conditions, female child has better chance of survival ,however, surprisingly our society has less number of births for girls as compared to boys. She added that Samba has one of the lowest sex ratio in the country inspite of having second highest literacy rate in the State. She called for empowerment of female child and changing mindset of the society so that instead of considering them as burden, they are held in high esteem. PO ICDS Tanveer Iqbal and DSWO Samba Mushtaq Choudhary also spoke on the occassion. On the occasion, Shoes were distributed among female students of Middle School Raika and Orphan girls of the area were provided study material and stationery. Also, meritorious female students of Ramgarh were awarded by DC Samba. The ladies who had recently given birth to female child were also honored on the occasion cultural and song programme was also organized in which artists of Sargam group and Balbir Saingh,cultural assistant performed. |
