PIL against minister for occupying JKCA's top post | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 7: A PIL was filed today in the high court against youth services and sports minister Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari for 'occupying' the post of president of J&K Cricket Association (JKCA). The two petitioners, who hail from Srinagar, have sought strict implementation of the judgment and order of Supreme Court in the case titled as Board of Control for cricket v/s Cricket Association of Bihar and others. They have challenged the alleged unlawful and arbitrary authority of the minister in occupying the post of JKCA president. "The occupying of the post is in clear contravention of the said judgment ," they claimed. The Supreme Court had constituted a committee under former Chief Justice of India R M Lodha to recommend reforms for cricket in India. Lodha Committee, after a thorough study of the BCCI's functioning, has presented its recommendations to the Apex Court. The PIL was filed before the court's registry and its listing or otherwise is to be directed by the orders of the Chief Justice. |
