Modi has talked much, now it's time for action: Sharma | 'Border tense due to BJP's poll strategy' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: Sham Lal Sharma Sr Vice President JKPCC and Former Minister while addressing monthly meeting of Block Congress Committee Akhnoor expressed surprise over the statement of CM Mehbooba Mufti in which she had said that India should have dialogue with Pakistan to sought out the prevailing unrest on the LoC and International Border in the presence of her ministers both from PDP and BJP. The CM has also said that the PM Modi is following the peace formula laid out by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Sham Lal Said that it is not understood what formula the then PM Mr Vajpayee has laid for talks instead of peace there was a Kargil war which resulted into loss of precious lives of our brave soldiers and now the same strategy has been followed by the Modi government which has led state into the present turmoil. Sharma said that there is no government and civil administration functioning in the state. There is chaos at every level in the state due to ineffeciency of the BJP PDP government. He said that whole state has been turned into battle field by the BJP government intentionally. In my opinion this situation is being created by the NDA government keeping in view of the forthcoming Assembly elections in the U.P. and Gujrat. Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP government of talking much and making hollow promises to the people right from the previous Lok Sabha elections,Mr Sham Lal said that it is time for Modi to act and deliver to the people of this country. He said that people of the border belt in the State have been suffering badly due to Pakistani firing. "They are scared of shelling and needed to be rehabilitated at the safer places. Their demand of raising pucca bunkers near the LoC and adequate compensation is genuine and justified," he added. "The Prime Minister should take action. He has made promises and everybody knows those promises. I think it is about time the Prime Minister stop making commitments and start taking action. Taking a sharp dig on Modi,Sham lal said that Sharma took a dig at the Modi Govt. and BJP for exploiting the isolated incidents at the borders during UPA regime and launched a loud campaign for domestic politics but unfortunately the borders did not witness calm and peace during the short stint of Modi rule and people have suffered the worst during this period. Attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Sham Lal said it was unfortunate that Modi chose to "remain mute on the killing of jawans and civilians in Pakistani shelling instead of giving out a strong message to the neighbouring country. In a jibe at Modi, Mr Sham Lal said that as chairman of election panel of BJP, he had been showing a 56-inch chest to Pakistan but now had failed to show the country even his 6-inch chest. Now, as the terror incidents have increased manifold, the government led by Modi is going two-steps forward and four steps backward. I think they don't have any clear policy with regard to Pakistan", Sham said. Lambasted on BJP Govt Sham Lal said that ever since BJP came to power at the Centre, there has been a huge escalation in incidents along the border. There has been a huge increase in ceasefire violations along the International Border and LoC in Jammu and Kashmir provinces. There has been a manifold increase. We have never seen this before. On this occasion, Sham Lal expressed deep concern over the escalation in the border firing and targeting of the civilian population by Pakistan in the recent months and regretted that people all along the J&K borders and Loc are witnessing the most difficult periods in the recent years. |
