NHPC Limited Organizes State Level Painting Competition

Jammu, Nov 9: NHPC Limited organized today State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2016 today at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. 06 students who stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd in their respective Categories in the competition were awarded Rs.20,000/, 15,000/ & 10,000/ respectively and 20 students were awarded consolation prizes of Rs.5,000/- each in an impressive prize distribution function, .
Earlier, all the Schools in the State of J&K were requested to organize Painting Competition in their Schools amongst students of class 4th, 5th, 6th (Category-A) and 7th, 8th, 9th (Category-B) and to send 2 best paintings from both the Categories to the State Nodal Officer. As many as 371 Schools & 28434 students from the State of J&K participated in the School Level Painting Competition in the two categories. On Oct. 28th, 2016, Jury consisting of eminent Artists and representatives from State Education Deptt., selected 110 paintings out of the 742 paintings received from various schools.
110 students thus selected at School Level appeared in the State Level Painting Competition. Utkarsh Pandey, Sainik School, Nagrota, Krishna Sharma, DPS, Jammu, Nischint Singh, Tiny Tots Hr. Sec. School, Sainik Colony, Jammu won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively from Category-A and Aga Madiha, Classic Public High School, Ahmedpora-Srinagar, Atish Slathia, MV International School, Vijaypur, Deepuday Singh, Sainik School, Nagrota won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively from Category-B.
Amongst others, Sr. Officers from NHPC Limited, Sh. S. Kalgaonkar, Executive Director, R.K. Kedia, Chief (HR) & Nodal Officer for J&K State Painting Competition, Yoginder Kotha, Chief Engineer (Civil),S.N.Tewari, Chief (Finance), Media Persons, Jury Members, students, their Parents, Teachers and other dignitaries from civil administration were present on the occasion.
S. Kalgaonkar, Executive Director briefed the Chief Guest Sh. R.D.Sharma & others about the proceedings of the School & State Level Painting Competition & also about the campaign launched by Ministry of Power.
