Govt. Degree College, r s pura organizes career counseling programmme

Jammu, Nov 9:Career Counseling Cell of GDC R.S.Pura in collaboration with Employment Information-cum-Advisory Bureau, Department of Lifelong Learning, University of Jammu has organized a Career Counseling programmme on "Career Avenues after College" in the College premises, today under the supervision of Convener, Dr Sangita Nagari and Co-convener, Prof. Jugal Kishore, . Main focus of the programme was on Subject-wise counselling about new and emerging career options in different fields provided to the students by the counselling team of special resource persons from University of Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal of the College Dr. Savitri Sharma who in her speech stressed upon the need of career awareness programmes for the students and also appreciated the efforts of Counselling Cell of DLL which is actively organizing the series of groups counselling programmes in various colleges for the benefit of students. About 115 students of the college participated in the Programme. The resource persons in the programme were Associate Professor , Department of Statistics, University of Jammu, Dr Parimal Kumar, who apprised the students about the scope in Non-Medical field, Asstt. Prof, Department of Botany, University of Jammu, Dr Harish Chander who in his interaction told the students about various career options in medical stream, Counsellor, EIAB, University of Jammu Dr Rewa Khajuria, in her presentation talked about the scope of Career Counselling. Formal vote of thanks was presented by Co-Convener, Career Counselling Cell, Govt. Degree College, R.S Pura, Prof. Jugal Kishore.
Police foils bovine smuggling bid
Samba: Samba Police foiled bovine smuggling last night in district Samba during the night intervening November 8/9 a naka was laid by Police party of Police Station Ghagwal.
As per information, during checking a Canter-608 bearing registration No JK08B-9588 which was coming from Samba side was signaled to stop but driver accelerated his vehicle, ran away towards Ghagwal. The police party acting swiftly chased the said vehicle and intercepted the same on Sangwali Link Road. The driver of vehicle taking advantage of darkness fled away from the spot.
However on checking 7 Buffaloes were found brutally tied with rope inside the said Canter-608. The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized and a case FIR No. 93/2016 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA, 183/184/179 M.V Act has been registered in Police Station Ghagwal in this regard and investigation taken up.
