Jammu, Nov 9: District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Urban along with School children organized a special prayer meeting to pray for speedy recovery of infant girl 'Pari' who sustained critical injuries in the cross border firing from Pakistan and presently is undergoing treatment at Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu. Congress activist alongwith students children of Luthra Public School under the leadership of Anil Chopra- District President prayed for her speedily recovery. Speaking on the occasion Anil Chopra strongly criticized the Pakistan for unprovoked firing and targeting civilian population. He praised the Indian Army and BSF for giving befitting reply to Pakistan. "We must salute them for their bravery, he said, while adding, "we all are with the Indian army and BSF at this crucial time and we appeal the people to unitedly fight against the forces who are hell bent to divide the unity of the country. District General Secretary Gourav Chopra said asked Govt to provide relief to the affected border people by providing them ex-gratia relief & 5 Marla Plots at safer places. Congress leaders also announced financial assistance of Rs. 20,000/- to the family of Pari to bear the expenses of treatment etc. Puneet Arora, Madan Lal Malagar, Dr Ramakant Khajuria, Naresh Maini, Gourav Chopra, Parshotam Mehra, Puneet Arora, Camers David, Gourav Kapoor, Jodh Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Sushil Sharma, Arun Singh, Ashwani Handa, Sanjeev Luthra and others were also present on this occasion. |
