POONCH, Nov 9: Vigilance on the part of a night watchman led to the foiling of a burglary attempt in the court complex here Sunday last.
Watchman Rajesh Kumar was on routine patrolling of the area when he sighted three burglars trying to sneak into the court complex. He immediately alerted the guards, who caught hold of one of the thieves while the other managed to flee, police sources said. The nabbed thief was identified as Showkat Hussain, son of Mir Mohammad of Khari, Poonch. He identified his escaped accomplices as Gohar and Arun of Rajouri. Hussain's interrogation was in progress to work out other thefts in the town, including the two which had taken place in the court complex some time back. A manhunt had been launched to apprehend Gohar and Arun, sources said. |
