HC reserves orders on vacation of schools by forces | | | S Sabaqat Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 9: The state high court today reserved for orders a Public Interest Petition, seeking vacation of schools by security forces in the state. The orders were passed by a division bench of Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey in a PIL, seeking a direction commanding the authorities concerned to security forces vacated from all the educational institutions of the valley and consequently pave the way for students to achieve education which is a constitutional guaranteed right envisaged under article 21 and 21-A of Indian Constitution and Section 20, 21 and; 23 of the J&K Constitution. The petitioner has also sought the directions to make the educational institutions viable by rectifying the damage, if any, caused by the occupation of forces. Directions were also sought in the nature commanding the respondent to draft and formulate a comprehensive policy by which no educational institute shall be occupied or used as a temporary shelter by security forces in future. The petitioner also sought directions for prohibiting forces from occupying the educational institutes in J&K under whatever extra ordinary circumstances and situation. |
