Crackdown against errant bus drivers, 40 challaned | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 9: Police Sub-Division (SDPO) Akhnoor today launched a special drive against use of music systems and pressure horns in public transport including minibuses and booked at least 40 vehicles. Police spokesman said that during the drive, nakas were established at 7 locations and 40 erring vehicles were challaned. "The transporters have been one of the biggest violators on road that has often led to several fatal and non-fatal accidents, a police officer said. He said, "Rarely do they follow traffic rules or stop at designated stops while the music systems and pressure horns installed in minibuses and buses are creating another menace. "Music systems and pressure horns installed in all these vehicles have been removed and seized materials shall be forwarded to court for further punitive action at their end", he said. |
