AMEAK delegation calls on CM; highlight issues concerning migrant employees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 10:A six member delegation of All Migrant Employees Association Kashmir (AMEAK) led by Vinod Pandit, chairman All Parties Migrants Coordination Committee (APMCC) and King C Bharati, senior journalist and national spokesperson APMCC today called on Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and apprised her of the demands of employees who are on dharna in support of their demands for the past 120 days. The delegation submitted a memorandum of demands to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti seeking redressal of their grievances. The Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that the genuine demands would be addressed while those falling under the ambit of the government of India would be forwarded to MHA. The Chief Minister assured the employees that nobody would be forced to resume their duties in Kashmir Valley till situation is conducive for them and also assured that their salary and other issues regarding employment in Kashmir Valley would also be addressed immediately. She also said that no HoD would be allowed to harass the migrant employees unnecessarily adding they are equally vulnerable as others and hence would not be forcible sent to resume their duties till situation is conducive for them. The Chief Minister said that government was aware of their concerns adding Kashmiri Pandits were an important part of Kashmir and the government was duty bound to redress their grievances with compassion.
