JU clarification suggest: Vice Chancellor sticks to his anti-India statement | Prof Sharma toeing Nawaz Sharief line's to humiliate security forces | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 10: After giving statement in favour of pro-Pakistani terrorist and a pro-claimed commander of the Burhan Muzaffar Wani of Hizbul Mujahiden Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof R D Sharma this evening issued a clarification which was more controversial. The statement, which was issued by the Public Relations Department of Jammu University, has not contradicted the statement of Vice Chancellor in which he (Vice Chancellor) has argued that Burhan Wani, who was responsible was engineering attacks on security forces including cops of J&K police, should not be killed. Instead of contradicting Vice Chancellor pro-terrorist line, the University authorities have mentioned that Vice Chancellor gave his personal opinion purely as an Academician. The said version of the Vice-Chancellor was completely without any motive and purely in context of the much needed reforms in the Society with respect to safeguarding the interests of the students of our State, particularly the Kashmir region. "It is unfortunate that some vested interests have started twisting the statement of the Vice-Chancellor to satiate their own objectives. It is, therefore clarified and impressed upon that the statement given by the Vice-Chancellor, which is already available on the social media as well, be interpreted in the light of academic pursuits only, as it in no way was aimed to promote or protect the interests or hurt the sentiments of any individual. Communication gap caused, if any, is regretted", the statement stated. Shockingly Vice Chancellor's office has not contradicted his pro-terrorist stand which authenticated that Prof R D Sharma is stick to the same stand which has been taken by Pakistani Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharief. Like Nawaz Sharief, Prof R D Sharma has also hailed Burhan Wani as hero and argued that he should not be killed. Meanwhile nationalist forces erupted on the streets against irresponsible, pro-Pakistan, pro-terrorists and anti-India utterance of Vice Chancellor of Jammu University. Chamber of Commerce and Industries Jammu has written a letter of Governor, N N Vohra, who is Chancellor of the University and copy of the same letter has been sent to Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for taking action against Prof Sharma. BJYM, youth wing BJP oragnised a massive protest against Vice Chancellor and demanded his sacking. Similarly BJP has also taken strong exception of VC's pro-Pakistan stand. ABVP, National Secular Front (NSF) and other groups have also demanding sacking of the Vice Chancellor for toeing Nawaz Sharief's line. |
