Early Times Report

Jammu Nov 10: The students and scholars in Jammu University today boycotted under the banner of National Secular Forum (NSF) against Vice Chancellor for supporting the sentiment of separatist forces and opposing the action of security forces. A complete shutdown was observed in the entire campus. The activists of NSF went across the different teaching departments and asked the students to voluntarily boycott the classes. Thereafter they took out a rally in the campus shouting slogan against the University administration and Vice Chancellor.
Addressing the protesters here today Reshikesh Rana President University Unit NSF flayed the Vice Chancellor for replying to a question during a press conference yesterday where he said that Burhan Wani should had been captured alive and not eliminated as the same deteriorated the peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir Valley. "In the aftermath of Wani's killing large scale violence and unrest happened in the valley resulting in loss of lives and property. That's why it was important to arrest him alive, he explained."
Now what does it mean? Is the learned Vice Chancellor supported the sentiment of separatist forces and opposed the action of security forces? But by expressing sympathy for a killed terrorist he actually tried to impress his political masters," Rana said. He alleged that the Vice Chancellors' is trying to be in the good books of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who also happens to be the pro-chancellor of the university in lieu of an extension for him.
He further said that the Chancellor and the Pro-Chancellor of Jammu University should take cognizance of the episode and take stern action against Prof. R.D Sharma. NSF Central University unit also protested against VC JU in the premises of campus under the chairmanship of Neeraj.
Among those who were present in the protest rally included, Varun Dogra, Deepak Kumar, Amit, Anshu Sharma, Pushpinder Singh, Pardeep Sharma, Abhishek Bhagat, Atul Sharma, Suraj Kumar, Arun Manhas, Sahil Manhas, Nikhil Sharma, Sam Manhas, Ajay Sharma and Others.
