ABVP criticises VC over remark on Burhan Wani
11/10/2016 10:40:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 10: ABVP today criticised the Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu over recently remark on Burhan Wani, the slain terrorist of Hizbul Mijahidin who was killed by Security Force in the month of July in Anantnag.
According to press release, yesterday, the VC, RD Sharma said that the slain terrorist should have been captured alive rather than killed by the security Forces.
Expressing shock and anguish over the statement of the Vice chancellor, ABVP State Secretary Varsha Jandial said that this type of statements demoralize the spirit of the security forces. He should not ignore the fact that Burhan's fights against the state had motivated large numbers of youths, including many teenagers, to take up arms.
He (VC) should not forget, in a video that had gone viral exactly a month before he was killed, he had threatened Kashmiri policemen, media-persons and other sections of society that did not overtly support terrorism.
She further said that soon after this video, dramatic attack in which policemen had been killed on the streets of Kashmir, this crossed a red line that was the reason of his encounter. She reminded, Separatist sponsored shutdown has affected the education as schools, colleges and other educational institutions continued to remain shut in the Valley and neither the parents, teachers and students nor the VC has mentioned in the press conference.
Vice-Chancellorship is an official position and he has no right to create unnecessary question marks on the security forces. We demand from the chancellor and pro-chancellor of the University to immediately take action against the Jammu University VC. We want his dismissal. He must be removed from his official position.
