| Two laborers killed in landslide | | |  Early Times Report
Kishtwar Nov 10: In a tragic incident in remote Sarthal area of Kishtwar District, two laborers working at road construction site died after they came under the impact of the landslide triggered due to loosened rocks.
"The deceased were identified by the police as Sanjay Kumar son of Tek Chand resident of Tagood Kishtwar and JCB operator Deepu Kumar resident of District Kathua, police sources said.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the incident took place at around 4.30pm when the laborers including the driver of JCB were working on the under construction Bagrah-Sarthal road came under the landslide triggered due to loosened rocks. "Both the labourer and the JCB operator got buried under the huge boulders of stone and rocks, reports said.
"On receiving information, a police party led by DySP Irshad Ahanger rushed to the spot and started rescue operation along with the help of locals, reports said, adding, "after three hour long hectic operation, police party retrieved the bodies of duo from the debris." Police sources said that the autopsy of deceased will be conducted tomorrow. Meanwhile the police have registered an FIR and started its investigation. |
