Jammu, Nov 10: In continuation with special drive against drugs under operation 'Sanjeevani' launched by Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu, Gangyal Police today arrested a narcotics peddler alongwith 12 grams of Heroin which was recovered from his possession.
"On specific information, a special naka was raised at Kunjwani Chowk at about 1700 hrs and police noticed one person coming from Bari Brahmana who was signaled to stop but the said person tried to escape but was given a chase and was over powered by the police team," said Police spokesman here today.
"On search of his belongings and personal frisking, police party recovered approximately 12 grams of Heroin like substance from his possession", said spokesman.
He added that police have registered a case at Police Station Gangyal under relevant section of law and further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain the source and destination of this consignment.
The whole operation was supervised by SHO Gangyal, Inspector Aijaz Wani and Sachin Gupta SDPO City South Jammu under the directions of SP City South, Shazad Ahmed Salaria. |
