11/10/2016 11:16:37 PM
Jammu, Nov 10: Fast Track Court presiding officer Kishore Kumar today rejected the bail application of an alleged rape accused. Accused Ravi Kumar Dhar, son of Kanaya Lal Dhar, hails from Govind Nagar, Munshi Chak. According to the police case, the victim met Ravi on December 28, 2014 at Gandhi Nagar hospital and allegedly started seducing her by expressing his love towards her, saying that he was in deep love with her and wanted to marry her. On January 6, 2015, he took her to Mahamaya Temple. He later took her to an abandoned building in a nearby park and allegedly raped her against her consent. On the pretext of marrying her, he later raped her several times, but thereafter refused to marry her. She then lodged a complaint against the accused who was booked by police under section 376 of RPC. The presiding officer, after hearing both the sides, observed that crime of rape was not only a crime against a person but it was a crime against the whole society. With these observations, he rejected the bail application of the accused. (JNF)
