Infiltration bid foiled, one militant killed so far in Kashmir | SECURITYJK INFILTRATION | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 10: A militant was killed as troops foiled an infiltration bid in Rampora sector in Uri in north Kashmir district of Baramulla, where two foreign militants were killed by security forces yesterday. However, a defence ministry spokesman when contacted by UNI said details about the infiltration bid is being collected. Official sources said that troops guarding the Line of Control (LoC) noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) under the cover of darkness in Rampora sector in Uri. However, when challenged and asked to surrender, militants opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons. Troops also retaliated and in the fierce encounter a militant was killed, they said adding there could be two to three more militants in the area. A massive search operation has been launched in the woods, they said adding further details are awaited. Security forces killed two foreign militants in an encounter in Rafiabad area of Sopore in Baramulla district. |
