Jammu, Nov 28: A teenager today succumbed to burn injuries and the toll in Jammu inferno mounted to four. On November 26 wee hours, mysterious fire engulfed the slums in Narwal area on city outskirts here in which three people, including a woman and her two kids, were charred to death, four sustained injuries while over 90 hutments turned into ashes. A teenager girl undergoing treatment at city hospital here, this morning succumbed, police said. ''Tasima, 17, died of burn injuries during the treatment,'' said police. She had received 80 percent burn injuries, they said. Pertinent to mention here that all the victims were Burma residents and living in the slum set up on a private land as refugees. Red Cross from its charity funds also provided some tents, blankets and other essentials to the affected. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed grief over fire incident. She directed the divisional administration to extend all humanitarian assistance to the affected families at the earliest. |
