Police detain 'married' couple, old woman | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 28: Police detained a 'married' couple and an old woman from Govindsar area of Kathua in the wee hours of this morning. According to Riaz Ahmed, Gool police raided their house at around 2.30 am and picked up his brother Shaizad Khan, his 'wife' Manira Bano and their mother. "My brother was married to Manira Bano, daughter of Bashir Ahmed of Chachua Bralla near Gool, Ramban, on October 19 this year," he said and added that since their 'marriage, they had been living in their house at Govindsar. "Yesterday, brother of Manira reached at our residence and everything was fine till late night. It was at about 2.30 am when five cops knocked at our door. As I opened the door, they entered our house and apprehended my brother, his wife and our mother and whisked them away," Riaz. Incharge of police post, Govindsar, Varinder Singh said that Gool police had arrested them on the basis of an FIR registered against them at Gool police station. Gool police station SHO Amin Malik said arrests were made on basis of a missing complaint filed by the girl's family members. "Both the parties have been asked to remain present on Wednesday to sort out the matter," he added. |
