JKPSA meets with Chairman of JKBOSE | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16: The Executive members of central body of Private Schools today met with the Prof. Zahoor Ahmed Chatt Chairman, J&K State Board of school Education, Jammu under the chairmanship of Prof. JL Kotwal. While speaking members demanded immediate action of Board authorities against new policies of the State government for conducting the examination of class 9th and 11th in which SIE is authorized to supervise the evaluation. They said Government order no 338-Edu of 2016 dated 16-09-16 with regard to the Review of 'No Detention Policy' up to elementary level is totally vague as it is an attempt to encroach the autonomy of J & K Board by the state government. To curve "Education Mafia" and for effective and child oriented education deputation demanded immediate action against those schools which are running dummy classes while allowing the students of their schools to continue their studies in tutorials ,tuition centers , coaching centers in school hours with in the state and out side the state etc. Kamal Gupta President of the association demanded immediate disposal of the files which are lying pending for the grant of affiliation / recognition due to the non availability fresh building safety certificate, Chemical safety certificate and Fire safety certificate. He said while granting affiliation/ recognition to such schools, Board should stipulate a condition on that particular school to produce said certificates by granting a time not less than six months. The Chairman JKBOSE listened to the members patiently and replied that government has not taken the Board authorities in confidence while including class 9th & 11th in the review of "No Detention Policy" up to elementary level. He said that the provision of detention from class 6th to 9th & 11th already exists as per the guide line issued from time to time to Board authorities since 1993 under CCES. He assured the members to sort out this itching & grave situation he will take this matter to the higher officials.
