Ex MLA Jan assails PDP-BJP for dilly-dallying ongoing projects in Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Dec 16: Provincial Youth National Conference President and former minister Ajaz Jan today assailed PDP-BJP Coalition for theatrics about development of the Rajouri district and asserted nothing concrete is visible on ground. Interacting with various youth delegations, senior youth NC leader Jan expressed his anguish over sheer neglect of the Rajouri district that had come to centre-stage with the opening of Mughal Road as also the flourishing of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and said that the area ought to have been given priority in respect of infrastructural development and utility services. Recalling from past, Jan said that Mr Omar Abdullah led government had initiated various projects, which have unfortunately been stalled by the present dispensation, forgetting that governance is a continued process. "In this context, he referred to the Mini Secretariat complex, saying that due to fighting within the coalition partners, this mega project is getting delayed. Mr Jan also referred to dilly dallying of other projects, launched by the previous government and asked the implementing agencies to ensure their completion on priority. Citing various examples, he said these include new alternate bridge connecting Rajouri town with Kheora Chowk through Bela Colony, Mother-Child Care Hospital, sanctioned by UPA-II, due to efforts of the former Chief Minister Mr Omar Abdullah, doctor residential quarters in district hospital Rajouri and opening of Tehsil complex in Budhal etc which have come to stand still. The Youth National Conference Provincial President said that the PDP and the BJP have betrayed the mandate given by the people of the district in all the four constituencies.
