Pulwama bank robbery: Police identifies three suspected militants | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Dec 16 : In the latest development on the J&K bank robbery case in Pulwama, police have managed to identify three terrorists who were responsible for looting approximately 11 lakh from the Bank and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab them. According to police officials, the same persons have been linked with the past three bank robberies in the valley over the past month. Initial reports suggested that the Lakshar terrorists barged into the Ratnipura branch of J&K Bank yesterday and decamped with them money. The entire incident has been caught on the bank's CCTV footage and the whole incident happened in matter of four to five minutes. It has also been alleged that the successive bank robberies in the valley has been triggered by demonetization, which has crippled physical cash circulation. There is high probability that the looted money will be used by militants to fund terror activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The repeated incidents in the Valley indicate the vulnerability of banks in the region and need to take preventive measures. |
