Jammu, Dec 18 : Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association (CPFWA) on Tuesday, while criticizing Central Government for adopting discriminatory attitude towards ex-personnel of paramilitary forces, asked the Central and State Government to grant them their genuine and fundamental rights on top priority. While addressing media , President of the Association, Shashi Sharma demanded the benefits of One Rank One Pension (OROP) at par with defence forces. "We request the government to stop doing discrimination in soldiers and extend the benefit of OROP at par with defence forces to central paramilitary forces also," he added. "OROP granted to defence forces while it is not considered to be granted to Ex Central Paramilitary Forces," he said adding that New Pension Scheme enforced on the Central Paramilitary Forces is not suitable totally pesky and not affordable and having no sustainable affects on Indian life style. "A good number of men from Central Paramilitary Forces are retired every year but there are no rules having provisions to give them the Ex Servicemen Status while it has been announced by the GoI whereas it has not yet been notified in the gazette," he said and appealed to the government that the needful be made at earliest to enable the retirees to have their rights as defined in the ESM Status rules at par with the military. He also demanded separate Pay Band and Pay Commission, revision of pension of pre-2006 retirees and widows pension at par with Supreme Court judgment, establishment of Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Board, CSD facilities instead of CPC canteen, Medical Allowance Rs. 2,000 per month, medical facilities at par with ECHS, exemption from New Pension Scheme, allotment of land for establishment of a central paramilitary forces colony etc. Others present in the press conference included Dalip Singh , Mohinder Singh S.
