After looting banks terrorists threaten scribes | Financial Crunch Frustrates Terror Outfits | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 18: As there has been increase in number of bank robberies in Kashmir since the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi scrapped Rs 500/ and Rs 1000/ currency notes, terrorists and their mentors have been scratching their heads. During the past 40-days bank robberies and attempts to loot the financial institutions have increased manifolds in Kashmir. Police have collected enough evidence to prove that terrorists are behind the bank robberies. However, the terror outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has threatened journalists, who are working to safeguard the "national interests" and reporting their misdeeds. The Hizbul spokesman Saleem Hashmi in a statement to a local news agency said, "Anti-freedom elements are involved in bank robbery incidents." The Hizbul spokesman said, "The journalist fraternity should identify those people within their ranks who are acting as journalists but are actually working for some agenda for their petty benefits." It's in place to mention here that soon after terrorists looted banks in different places in Kashmir a few newspapers and news channels carried details stories about how demonetization has hit the terrorists and their mentors in Jammu and Kashmir. Newspapers carried out detailed stories about how Hawala transactions were hit and how terror outfits were pumping fake currency into India. "The demonetization move has frustrated the terrorists to the hilt. They have succeeded in looting some banks but all their attempts have not been successful. One can understand the frustration of the terrorists as they have threatened journalists for reporting facts and bringing to fore their misdeeds and frustration," said an analyst. Police sources revealed that they have collected enough evidence against the terrorists and terror groups involved in bank robberies. "Terrorists are issuing statements to divert attention from the real issues. They have realized that Police are tightening their noose around the terrorists and the bank robbers would be exposed soon," they added. "The demonetization move has left the terrorists their handlers and separatists high and dry. There is every possibility about they (terrorists) hitting soft targets in coming days to divert the attention from bank robberies and shift the focus of the investigation agencies," sources said. A Kashmir watcher said, "The days of terrorists are numbered and they know it won't be easy for their mentors to provide them with monetary assistance in coming days. Now they are looking for ways and means to create confusion and uncertainty by issuing contradictory statements. Many Over Ground Workers (OGWs) have left the terror outfits due to shortage of money." |
