KVK, promotes natural farming | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, Nov 13: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies Jammu (SKUAST-J) is promoting the farmers on natural farming so as to produce the safe and quality food. Sr. Scientist and Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr.Banarsi Lal said that Reasi district of J&K has huge potential in natural farming and the farmers can easily adopt the natural farming as already they are utilizing most of the natural resources and inputs for farming from their own fields. He said that natural farming is a promising means of reducing the dependence of farmers on external inputs, reducing the cost of cultivation and increasing the income of the farmers. He said that by the adoption on natural farming farmers can enhance their income and employment with minimum or no input cost. He further said that the KVK is encouraging and educating the farmers for the preparation of Jeevamrit and Beejamrit and also guiding them the practices of mulching and Acchadana required for the natural farming. He narrated that KVK is stressing on the production of quality and healthy food and this is possible with natural farming. He expressed that for a healthy society, quality food is required and natural farming can play a significant role for the production of quality food. He informed that natural farming is beneficial for the maintenance soil health and environment. By observing the successful results of natural farming many farmers are showing keen interest towards natural farming. |
