JAMMU, May 25: The vested interests in Kashmir have ganged up to scuttle the ongoing movement for establishment of the proposed AIIMS in Jammu. The Coordination Committee (CC) comprising 70-odd non-political organizations under the leadership of president Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar association (JKHCBA), Jammu, Abhinav Sharma, is spearheading the movement. The CC has given a bandh call and urged the people of Jammu province to observe a complete bandh on May 27, when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh visits Jammu to address a rally and highlight achievements of the Narendra Modi government. This would be the second bandh against what is being described by the people of Jammu as "anti-BJP". Jammu observed first bandh against the BJP on April 24, which was a massive affair.

Srinagar, May 25: Nearly 7000 candidates who had filled the online forms for Common Entrance Test (CET) would not be able to sit in the examinations slated for May 30, thanks to Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE). About 30,000 students had filled the application forms; however, around 7000 students have not been able to download the admit cards. The desperate candidates have been moving from pillar to post but to no avail.
The authorities in BOPEE express their helplessness, saying that the applicants were supposed to submit the hard copies of the forms in BOPEE offices after filling the online forms and depositing the prescribed fee.

In Kishtwar district, 22 ISM dispensaries have nine Medical Officers and 11 paramedical staff. If one dispensary gets one employee, two dispensaries remain with staff.

On Monday, one person was killed and two others injured when militants fired indiscriminately at a telecom company's outlet in Sopore area of north Kashmir.
