Cement dealers call upon SSP | | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, Jan 23: A deputation of registered cement Dealers today called on SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar and sought immediate control on illicit smuggling of cements from Punjab through different routes joining Jammu & Kashmir with Punjab. The deputation led by Ajay Sharma, President of the Association appraised that Illicit smuggling from different routes through Kot Punnu, Jarai, Nagri and Haria Chak except Lakhanpur flourish in high zeal. He said Crores of Rupees are squandering everyday as dozens of Illegal Vehicle loaded with Cement enter the state and move towards different districts. He said Illicit Cements have been sold at low rate as Sellers do not pay genuine tax. He alleged on sellers to pay tax of one vehicle and cross several vehicles on one slip but employees of Sale Tax deptt. deployed on duty shut down their eyes and act like spectators. SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar passed possible instructions of Dy. SP and Chowki Officers of different routes for vigil checking and asked to report within days. |
