SSB cracks cruel joke with job aspirants, selection lists of various cadres pending for years 1/23/2015 11:09:49 PM Shakeel A Khan Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 23: Services Selection Board (SSB) is fast losing its credibility as this recruitment agency has miserably failed to discharge its responsibilities. The job aspirants have been left high and dry as this agency, responsible for filling of non-gazetted posts, hasn't succeeded in keeping pace with the time. It is worth annoying that SSB couldn't come up with the final selection of the cultural assistants for which the interviews were conducted some three years before. The candidates who had applied for the post of cultural assistant are all fire against the SSB saying that the process which should have been completed just in a few months, is still lingering even after three years. "The only job which is at the disposal of the SSB is to make the recruitment for the non-gazetted posts. The way SSB has failed to come up with the final selection list of the candidates for the post of cultural assistant, has put a question mark on its efficiency," said Javaid Ahmad from Srinagar, who also has applied for the said post. Javaid went to the extent saying that the only motto of the recruitment agencies, like the SSB is to generate revenue only. If Javaid is to be believed, the recruitment agencies are creating hurdles in the way of the jobless youth, as its failure to publish the selection lists speaks volumes about it. Another candidate namely Mukhtar Ahmad was of the opinion that there wasn't a formality like the written examination for the post of cultural assistant and why the SSB failed to complete the job even after a time of three years, is beyond the imagination of every aspirant. Like cultural assistants, there are other posts as Junior Engineer and Junior Grade Nurse for which the selection lists have also not been published courtesy "poor work culture of the SSB". When will the dreams come true for the candidates, is a billion dollar question. Shugufta Parveen, Chairperson of the SSRB while talking about the pending lists said "I will look into the matter as to why the final selection list of the cultural assistant has not published even three years after completing the formalities." When asked that why SSB has not come out with the final list of the Junior Grade Nurse, Shugufta Parveen replied "It is a tough job on hand as thousands of candidates appeared for the written test.
