PDP-BJP alliance before RS elections may shock NC, Congress | Farooq's road to RS likely to meet dead end | | Bivek Mathur Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 23: Notification of Rajya Sabha elections has suddenly seen the political temperatures soaring in the state. While ice has started breaking between BJP and PDP over government formation in the state, former coalition partners turned foes NC and Congress have also started coming closer, seeking at least one seat each in the House of eleders. The political analyst observe that alliance between BJP and PDP who have 25 and 28 seats respectively may shock the NC as well as Congress who had all the four seats in Rajya Sabha with over 45 members in Legislative Assembly in 2009 LA elections. The likely alliance will wipe out former coalition allies from the Rajya Sabha as all the four seats are likely to fall in the kitty of PDP-BJP alliance, ruling out chances of NC patriarch Farooq Abdullah's entry into the Upper House of the Parliament. Senior BJP leader Nirmal Singh when contacted over the efforts being made towards formation of government in the state, said, " BJP is trying its level best to form the next dispensation in the state with support of any other political party but as of now the specifics cannot be disclosed ". However Singh, without naming any of the prospective partners assured that all the four seats of the Rajya Sabha will be won by coalition comprising BJP. |
