Security Group reviews situation in Rajouri, Poonch | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 23: A Joint Security Group Conference was organised at Romeo Force Headquarters on Friday to take stock of the prevailing security situation in the area and chalk out a joint strategy to keep the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch free of any untoward incidents in view of forth coming Republic Day celebration. According to press release, the meeting was chaired by General Officer Commanding Romeo Force and was attended by Haseeb Mughal, SSP Rajouri, JS Johar, SSP Poonch, RS Kataria, DIG, BSF and other representatives of Civil Administration, Police, Security and Intelligence agencies. The General Officer Commanding Romeo Force emphasised on the requirement to be alive and vigilant in the present context to any situation that may develop in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch. During meeting, both the SSP briefed the gathering on the internal security situation and various steps taken to maintain law and order in the region. Participants expressed their views on various issues and measures for management of security environment prevailing in the region. In view of Republic Day celebrations the various measures to the adopted to keep the area free of any terrorist related incidents were also discussed during the meeting. All the participants appreciated the close coordination being maintained between the Security Forces, Civil Administration and the Police. The General Officer Commanding thanked everyone for their valuable contribution and assured the participants of the continued commitment of the Army towards ensuring peace and harmony in the twin districts of Rajouri and Poonch. |
