Jammu, Jan 23: Government Degree College (GDC) Bhaderwah today qualified for the next round of the ongoing inter-college cricket tournament after they outplayed Acharya Shri Chandra College of Medical Sciences (ASCOMS) in a one-sided contest at University of Jammu ground, here. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, GDC Bhaderwah set a target of 120 runs for four wickets, which, in reply, ASCOMS could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 40 runs in 14 overs. Deepak remained top scorer with 47 runs while Upman and Rahul contributed 24 and 21 runs respectively. Nitin Kumar added 12 runs. From ASCOMS, Yuvraj and Abhimanyu shared two wickets each. Later, ASCOMS bowled out cheaply for 40 runs in 14 overs, courtesy five wickets haul from Mubishar (3-0-10-5). Burham too bowled well taking away four wickets. This annual cricket tournament of the affiliated college of JU is organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education. |
