Core Groups visit border relief camps, asks admn to speed up relief measures | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 23 : In compliance to the directions of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Acting Chief Justice and Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority, Chairpersons of District Legal Services Authorities (Pr. District & Session Judges) of Jammu, Kathua and Samba, constituted Core Groups headed by Judicial Officers of concerned districts in terms of "Scheme for Legal Services to Disaster Victims through Legal Services Authorities" visited the relief camps and directed the concerned district administration to assess the damage caused to life and property of firing victims. The Core Group along with heads of district administration of their respective districts visited the temporary shelter camps (relief camps) set up at Hiranagar, Marheen, Chak-Haria, Nagial and Chan Khan Khatrain at district Kathua, and Shri Chichi Mata Ji Temple at district Samba and directed the concerned district administration on spot, to assess the damage caused to life and property of firing victims so that the cases for disbursement of relief are processed expeditiously. Besides, temporary Legal Aid Clinic was also opened at village Londi in Kathua district where Para Legal Volunteers were deputed to hear the grievances of firing victims and forward the same to the district administration for redressal. |
