Tak hails candidature of Mir, Laway for RS polls 1/23/2015 11:00:13 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 23 : Senior Peoples Democratic Party leader FirdousTak has hailed the selection of Nazir Ahmad Laway and Fayaz Ahmad Mir as party candidates for the RajyaSabha polls. In a statement issued here today Tak said that the party leadership particularly patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed and President Mehbooba Mufti deserve appreciation for the manner in which the two candidates were selected and nominated for election to the prestigious post. "This is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that a political party has adopted a criteria to nominate it's candidates for the coveted posts", Tak said adding that the manner in which the two candidates were selected is a testimony that PDP is scripting new chapter of political transparency and accountability. He said that the PDP under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti has not only encouraged the fresh political recruitment in Jammu and Kashmir but has also provided a platform to the youngsters to utilize their energy and capabilities for a prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
