Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurates project 'Aasha' at Panjar Village | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 23: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh inaugurated project 'Aasha' at Saddal-Panajar village and its first smart village in Jammu and Kashmir. Pertinently, the village which was washed away in the devastating floods of September 2014 as a result around 40 people were died and more than 121 families lost their house, livelihoods options in this village. Addressing the media persons, Dr Jitendra Singh said the project Aasha was inaugurated, wherein 56 hutments have been built and handed over to the victims in the village. This effort was undertaken by the volunteers of the Foundation as a dream project to their commitment to the people of Panjar. "In the first phase, 27 families affected will be provided hutments while the remaining work in the village would be finished in next some months. I have already adopted three villages and will utilize money four times the amount of my MP fund," said Singh and adding the village will be developed as an ideal village and there will be no crunch of funds to hamper its development. He also informed that a vocational training centre including computer course and mobile certificate course will also be set up in the village so that youth can get job in various fields or set up own business in the village. "In future the village will have beauty and hair saloons and other modern facilities Besides, he also claimed during flood the state government became defunct then the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government came forward to help the victims of the flood in the state. Meanwhile, the foundation expressed gratitude to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Yasha Mudgal for support that made this project successful. The principal sponsor for this project has been DS Group whose support has made it possible to complete this project in record time. Sanjoo Dadroo, National Director for Love Care Foundation said that they will continue their efforts in providing rehabilitative support to the village. As part of the next step the Foundation has tied up with Concentrix to start a vocational centre in the village providing computer skills as well as various courses for girls. |
